Hermetic Magic
The Mage
In the first card of the Greater Work, the Hermetic Magus stands at the Center, one hand raised (‘as above’) and the other hand lowered (‘as below’). He wears the garments of Albus and Rubeus (Inner Purity with the Vermilion Outer Vestment of the Mystery of the Sacred Eucharist). Before him on the altar (central focus of the energetic kshetram), are the Magical Instruments, one for each Tattva: the Fire Wand (Tejas), the Air Dagger (Vayu), The Grail (Apas), and the Pentangle (Prithivi). Above his head is the Infinite Lemniscate, symbolizing that he stands at the Central Axis of Intersection for All Planes and Dimensions.
All around him, the pulchritude of Nature rejoices in Abundance
Hermes Trismegistus
Thrice Greatest Hermes, expounder of all knowledge: “keep me in mind in all that you learn and I will teach thee”.
Hermetic Brotherhood
The Greater Assemblies are well-known (Brotherhood of Luxor, etc.), representing the Magical Societies of Panpsychic Collectivism (Egregori, etc.). One of the most famous, perhaps, would be the Rosicrucians.
